Ray Mcnamara
My career in dentistry began in 1989 after graduating from Leeds Dental School, where I earned two clinical awards and a position as House Surgeon, gaining valuable experience in consultant-led clinics. Although this foundation was invaluable for my growth and confidence, I eventually sought the flexibility of general practice and began working as an Associate in Warrington and Wigan. After six years, I opened my first dental practice in Chester in 1997. This was followed by the opening of Northgate Dental Health in 2007, which many of you may remember. After selling that practice in 2014, I focused on creating an ideal environment to offer a new approach to dental care.
The Story Behind Dentistry With Integrity
My sometimes troublesome leg led me to frequent sessions with my physiotherapist, Gary Bissell. During one of our sessions, Gary mentioned his plans to expand his clinic, Prophysio, to house a multidisciplinary paramedical polyclinic. Knowing the setting was ideal—with ample private parking and convenient access from the nearby A55—I saw the opportunity to create something exceptional for our patients.
We designed this dental suite with patient comfort in mind, from a relaxing journey through the clinic to the behind-the-scenes facilities that prioritize effective and unobtrusive instrument sterilization and processing. I’m particularly meticulous about maintaining instrument sterility, and for those interested, we provide a detailed overview of our processes on this website.
In our clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of services, including general dentistry, endodontics (root canals), advanced reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry, implant surgery and restorations, as well as advanced prosthetics. While dentures can sometimes be necessary, we use precision techniques and attachments to make them as comfortable and functional as possible.
